The University of Oklahome boasts a football history that has held exceptional talent over the years, including several heismans that showcase the true power of the Sooners. Oklahoma's Heisman legacy began with Billy Vessels in 1952, a standout running back who set the stage for the Sooners' future success. In 2008, Sam Bradford continued the tradition, becoming the third Oklahoma quarterback to hoist the Heisman. Baker Mayfield, a transfer from Texas Tech, made an immediate impact, winning the Heisman in 2017. Most recently Kyler Murray clinched the Heisman in 2018. Two notable quaterbacks to mention are Caleb Williams and Jalen Hurts, who both started their college careers as quaterbacks for the Sooners, but transferred to different schools and both ended up winning the heisman.
