Assignments

Because the course is so applied, it makes no sense to have traditional exams because there's very little theory involved... it's all practical.  For that reason, the course grade will be completely determined by performance on class exercises.  Exercises will be evaluated on:

• Technical correctness

• Thoroughness

• Resourcefulness

• Neatness

• Ingenuity

• Creativity

• Exercise #2: Making a useful map from SAMP dataset

• Exercise #3: Making a shaded relief map of a "special" Ohio county

• Exercise #4: Using 7.5' DEMs to make a shaded relief map of a "special" Ohio county

• Exercise #5: 1:100,000 scale DLG's, clipping, and using GPS data

• Exercise #6: Geologic and topographic map of a selected state

• Exercise #7: Hillshade and GQ drape maps
