This knitted gnome was based on the dwarf design of Jean Greenhowe in Knitted Toys. I enjoyed making the Gnomes and tried something different for each one. For this second gnome, I eliminated the seams in the original pattern by knitting the pieces in the round with double pointed needles. I distain any kind of seaming! I used a double-knitting technique on the appendages in which a tube of knitted fabric is created using flat (back and forth) knitting with two needles.
This gnome corresponds to the Norse deity Freyr.
