Beavercreek Golf Club
Located about 10 minutes south of Dayton, you will find this beautifully tucked-away golf course in a very nice neighborhood in the heart of Beavercreek, Ohio. Opened in 1999 and built by Ohio-based architects Steve Burns and Jack Kidwall, this 6,810-yard, 18-hole course is open to the public.
About
The greens at Beavercreek Golf Course are fast and true. I always tell people that when they ask about the course. It's quite forgiving, but some holes can be hilly, so it's important to know your club distances. The front nine is fairly open and forgiving, but the back nine can be tough. It goes through some densely wooded areas, so you have to be careful with your shots. There are plenty of water hazards, including the seventeenth hole, which requires you to hit a tee shot over a large pond onto a tiny green surrounded by bunkers. The fairways are in the same condition as those at Yankee Trace—very well-manicured.
Amenities/Pricing
This course features a full-sized driving range at a respectable price: large buckets cost $10 and medium buckets cost $7. They also offer putting greens and a pro shop, and it is open to the public. Prices vary by day, weather, and time; an average round in-season costs around $40-$50, while out-of-season it averages around $25. A little tip: late evenings are the best time to go. Nine holes cost $27, and every time I have gone in the late evenings (around 5:30-6:30 pm) there has been barely anyone on the course, so I've been able to hit 3-4 balls each time I swing and get much more practice!
