I carved this practice peice in my Woodcarving class at the UC College of Applied Science. The instructor, Richard Belcher is superb and I really enjoyed the course sequence. This is a first piece and as such is designed to give the student a feel for carving with the grain of the wood. The Swan is made from Beechwood.
