My wife, Janice was knitting a hat for a baby at her workplace using the special sock yarn that is dyed to knit up in a pattern. I thought that baby, Eric needed a hat as well but didn't want to use the thin sock yarn, so I started to knit a hat of the same size using much thicker chunky yarn. Well as the hat progressed it became clear that it was not only too big for a baby but also too big for my wife, so I ended up with a new hat! I call it Hjalm, which the Norse word for helm. I added the fairy antenna for a touch of whimsey which is always a good thing... in my book.
