My avocations are numerous and constantly fascinating.

• Music.  I have longstanding interest in music.  I perform traditional Appalachian and "bluegrass" music on mandolin, fiddle, open-back banjo, and guitar.  I have been working in bands for over 30 years and have performed at such local venues as the Appalachain Festival, Summerfair, the Summer Concert Series, a Day in Eden, Leo's Coffee House.
• Woodworking.  I grew up in a family where the watchword was, "If you need it, you make it."  I particularly enjoy making things out of wood and have, over the years, crafted furniture and musical instruments.
• Target Sports.  Another legacy from childhood is a love for target sports of all kinds:  bowling, basketball, archery, shooting, and most recently, fly fishing.
