The Ollie

The Ollie is as basic of a trick as it gets. To do an Ollie you will be utilizing the spring-like properties of your board to propel yourself upwards:

A short gif of somebody performing an Ollie.
  1. Bend your knees down and apply a little bit of pressure onto your front foot.
  2. Slide your board forwards and put all of the pressure on the tail of your board.
  3. Release this tension by jumping and allowing the pressure to propel you upwards.

Tail/Nose Press

A Tail/Nose Press is a simple free-styling trick to learn that can be utilized in a more advanced way as you improve your skills:

Someone performing a nose press.
  1. Lean forward so that all of your weight is place onto one foot.
  2. Continue to lean forward even more, taking the weight off of your foot and putting that weight onto the end of your board.
  3. Use the leg on the opposite side of the lean to lift up that side of your board into the air.
