Snowboard
When choosing a snowboard, it is important to take into consideration what kind of rider you are or aspire to be. Not every board was made to be used the same. Snowboards intended for going off ramps and freestyling are generally more flexible, while boards intended for carving at high speeds in good powdery snow are generally more stiff. Finding the right snowboard for you takes research in order to find the best size, shape, and build that suits your needs as a rider the best. Follow this link for more information.
Boots & Bindings
In similar fashion to a snowboard, snowboard boots and bindings take research in order to find the right pair for each rider's needs. When it comes to boots and bindings, it's all about finding a pair with the right amount of flex and give. More flexible boots and bindings are better for freestyle riding and jibbing, while stiffer ones are better for freeriding at higher speeds on longer boards.
Attire
One of the great things about snowboarding is the opportunity for self-expression. As long as you keep yourself warm, it truly doesn't matter what you wear. Companies like Columbia, Black Diamond, and Arc'teryx are all good options for good looking apparel that will keep you warm. But who am I to judge, if you want to wear a hot-dog costume while you ride, you are more than free to do so.
