How to Print from SD Card
Printing From SD Card
Taking a gcode file from any source and printing it on a printer is easier than it may seem, but can be different from printer to printer. Some files can't even print on my printer and same for others. When your file isn’t set to the correct parameters (taking into account print bed size, temp ranges, etc) many things can happen. Your printer could just not start the file or the printer could have some parameter errors which can sctratch your bed, dammage parts, destroy motors, or more.
That being said, most printers come with prints (files) ready. Once you have a gcode file that will work with your printer, (or picking from the files that come with your printer) you should be able to select something like "print from SD card" or something of the sort. On my printer it was named TF from the factory. Once you select your file you should check the tuning of your printer, and each set of gcode sets it from print to print. You can change this manually, it was under the "tune" section of my printer menu. Most filaments indiviually list their best settings on the roll, But you can raise or lower it as issues arrise.
When all goes well and the temps, sizing, and other values are set correctly, then your print should be done shortly!(or not)
