About Technical Committee Chairs

This TC is currently under the leadership of the following officers:  Dr. Heng Wei (Chair), Dr. Xuesong Zhou (Co-Chair), and Dr. Javier J. Sánchez Medina (Co-Chair). Dr. Heng Wei is a Professor of Transportation Systems and Engineering and Director of ART-Engines Transportation Research and Study Laboratory at The University of Cincinnati. He has a number of years of research and practical experiences in a wide spectrum of expertise including ITS, information and communication as well as computing technologies in transportation. He has participated in several main projects for development and deployment of ITS centers for several states Departments of Transportation (DOTs) in US.  His research has resulted in 128 peer-reviewed published papers and 8 professional books/chapters. He also serves on the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committees on Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing Applications (ABJ70), User Information System (AND20), and Transportation in Developing Countries (ABE90). Dr. Zhou is an Associate Professor at The Arizona State University. His research interests include dynamic traffic assignment (DTA), traffic estimation and prediction, large-scale routing and rail scheduling. He has been assisting the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to develop and provide technical support for DYNASMART, a large-scale simulation-based DTA system. He serves on the TRB Committee on Transportation Network Modeling (ADB30). Javier J. Sanchez-Medina is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science (DCS), and researcher at the Innovation Center for Information Society (CICEI), both in the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), Spain. His research interests include traffic modeling and optimization, evolutionary computation and parallel computing.
