HighFleet Ship Building Guide

One of the biggest features in HighFleet is the Ship Builder.

You can design any ship imaginable and load it into your initial fleet at game start.

Design Philosophy: Specialization is Key

  • Build ships with a specific purpose in mind; avoid creating jack-of-all-trades.
  • Specialized roles require different considerations (e.g., tanker, fighter, scanner ship).

The Art of Absence and Striptease

  • Outfit ships only with necessary components for their designated purpose.
  • Consider stripping unnecessary elements from existing ships to save resources.

Hierarchy of Importance in Ship Building

  • Arrange ship components based on their vulnerability to damage.
  • External armor protects critical internal components: Bridge, Ammo, Fuel, Crew Quarters, Generators, Hull, Thrusters, Sensors, Escape Pods, etc.

Elevation on Z-Axis

  • Utilize smart elevation on the Z-axis for certain components to create dead angles.
  • Elevating parts, like guns, can allow them to fire over obstacles, enhancing combat effectiveness.

Cramming More in Less

  • Optimize module placement to minimize the ship's size and weight.
  • Utilize nooks and crannies in basic hull shapes to maximize efficiency.

These tips provide a strategic approach to ship building, emphasizing purpose-driven design, resource efficiency, and combat effectiveness. Players can use these insights to create specialized and optimized ships tailored to their in-game objectives.
