What do you think of when you hear the word Chess? Maybe you think of some ancient board game that old people play. Or possibly you just envision pieces on a checkered-designed board. However, Chess is one of the most widely-known board games ever created. As being the most popular, I believe that everyone should be able to play and understand how the game operates.

The game of chess dates back over a millennium. It was first founded in India during the Gutpa Empire in the early 4th century and was called chaturanga. This game was used to develop different strategies for war combat. This game evolved to Persia, where it was renamed shatranj, and then evolved across the Islamic world where it developed more strategic methods and rules. Chess then went to Spain, where it became the modern game we all love and play.
