Nuclear Export Signal
A nuclear export signal  (NES) is a sequence of amino acids in a protein that allows it to interact with an exportin

or adapter, which consequently allows interaction with the nuclear pore complex.

Many of the NESs identified contain many hydrophobic amino acids, especially leucine.
