Dr. Xia Wang is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati.  Dr. Wang earned her doctoral degrees in statistics (2009) and economics (2007) from the University of Connecticut, where she developed expertise in Bayesian methodology and computation.  Dr. Wang received her postdoctoral training at the National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) 2009-2011.  She worked on NISSÕs NCI-funded project Proteomic Technologies: Metrology, Research Methods Design, and Analysis.


Dr. WangÕs research interests include Bayesian modeling development in categorical data analysis and scalable modeling of complex, high-dimensional data.  Her research has been applied in the fields of social sciences, proteomics, bioinformatics, ecological and environmental sciences, and climate change assessments.
