-Our History-

The Restaurant Caccio, traces back to our immigrant grandfather who courageously established the establishment. The tale begins in the early 1900s when Luigi Procaccio, a young and ambitious man, left his small village in Italy in search of a better life in America. Armed with nothing but his passion for cooking and a few family recipes passed down through generations, he arrived in the bustling city of New York. Despite facing numerous challenges and language barriers, Luigi’s determination never wavered.

He worked tirelessly, taking odd jobs to make ends meet while honing his culinary skills in any spare moment he had. His unwavering dedication caught the attention of a local Italian restaurant owner, who recognized Luigi’s talent and offered him an opportunity to work in his kitchen. His passion and talent soon became evident, and he gained a reputation for his mouthwatering dishes. As the years went by, Luigi’s dream of owning his own restaurant grew stronger. He saved every penny he could, sacrificing luxuries and working long hours to make his dream a reality.

Finally, in 1925, after years of hard work and perseverance, Luigi opened the doors to his own Italian restaurant, aptly named "Caccio." Luigi's dedication to quality and his commitment to preserving the traditions of his homeland earned him a loyal following. Generations later, Caccio still stands as a testament to Luigi's legacy. The restaurant remains family-owned and operated, with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren carrying on his culinary traditions. The walls are adorned with black-and-white photographs of Luigi’s, his smiling face a constant reminder of the courage and determination that brought him to this land of opportunity. In 1980, the Procaccio family moved to Cincinnati.Where, the family decided to carry on the family legacy and open another restuarant to honor Luigi. Today, Caccio continues to serve up Luigi’s cherished recipes, passed down through the generations. From the homemade pasta to the rich tomato sauces and delicate tiramisu.
