What Should I Read?
So you want to read some comics, but your just not sure what would captivate you. Well there is no need to worry. Use this page to find the run for you! Whether you want action, or drama, or your interested in milestones like his debut, or his first solo run.
I want to read something with...
Action
If you want action, your best bet can honestly be any of the runs. Moon Knight at his core is very much a brawler. Much like Batman he prefers to solve most of his problems with his fists. If you want a specific run recommendation, Moon Knight 2011 by Brian Michael Bendis takes Marc to Los Angeles where he faces well known villains Kingpin and Ultron. With a lineup of villains like that, this run is sure to satisfy your action needs
Mystery
While Moon Knight likes to deal with issues using his fists, sometimes he does like to solve mysteries as a detective. A comic run that shows this well is Warren Ellis' 2014 run. While it is short, it is undoubtebly one of the more creative runs introducing Mr. Knight, another persona of Moon Knight
Drama
One of Moon Knights most well known features is that he suffers from Dissassociative Identiy Disorder, or DID. His name is Marc Spector, unless he is going by his other personality, Steven Grant, or his third personality, Jake Lockley. Moon Knight 2016 by Jeff Lemire explores Marcs DID in depth with themes of mental illness, identiy, and perception of self.
Comedy
If you just wanna sit down and have some laughs, you may actually want to look for some of Moon Knight's other appearences outside of his own runs. While comedy does appear in his books, where he really shines is with his teamups with other heroes. His conversations with the likes of Spider-Man (Marvel Team-Up #144) allow the viewer to see the character with a much more lighthearted feel. While this isn't a full run, if you want some comedy alongside your Moon Knight experience, this is definitely the way to go. Otherwise, many of the runs do have comedy sprinkled throughout.
The Turn To Mythology
If you really love mythology, especially Egyptian mythology, you will love Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu (1985) by Alan Zelenetz. This run completely redefines Moon Knight's character from silver clad mercenary to avatar of the Egyptian god of the night sky.
Moon Knight's Debut
If you want to see Moon Knight's first ever debut, look no further than Werewolf by Night Issue 32, where we see mercenary Mark Spector be hired to dawn a white suit and use silver weapons to take down the titular main character. A villain fit for a werewolf themed superhero, it is always interested to see his roots compared to what kind of character he is now.
Moon Knight's First Comic Run
If you want to see the protector of the night's first ever time getting his own comic, you'll want to read Moon Knight 1980 by Doug Moench. After his debut in Werewolf by Night and a few other titles, Moon Knight was finally given his own comic to flesh out his character.
