Cats come in all shapes and sizes. Larger breed are often bred from wild animals like Cervils and Lynx. Many cats are "working animals", helping to keep rodent populations at bay.
During the Great Plague in Europe, some believed that cats were carriers of the disease and they were hunted and killed. This actually made the plague worse as rats and other rodents, which the cats killed, were the main carriers of fleas, which transmitted the plague to humans through their bites.
