Their names begin with A for the first crate, B for the second, and C for the third. From Alfie to Cinnamon, these puppies were all saved, wormed, given shots, and fed until they couldn't eat any more. Volunteers at the Peppermint Pig became the puppies' guardians and best friends!
"The Puppies who Missed Christmas"
How unlucky could 19 puppies be? Their misfortune was to be born two weeks too late. These litters of puppies plus two more arrived at the Peppermint Pig in the care of Safe Haven Animal volunteers 12 days after Christmas. Left outside the pound and existing in the pound on the hard concrete floor, they were rescued just in time. These tan, fawn, black, brown, white, and brindle soft, furry puppies ranged in weight from 2.5 lbs. to 5.5 lbs. Having been born too late to be given away as Christmas puppies, sadly no forever home awaited them. Thankfully, all 19 puppies were adopted or taken in by an east coast shelter by 1/10/2011.
