Welcome to the modern page! This page covers the time period between the 20th century to the
present day. 100 years ago the first ever recording of a guitar was produced, and luckily we
have it here with us today to listen to. The youtube video on the left below this paragraph was the first
recording of a guitar, from back in 1923.
The second video is the first appearance of Elvis, the monumental rock and roll figure. You
can see how 30 years has done a lot of different things for the guitar. In that time the first
electric guitar was invented and marketed. This would undoubtebly change the way we think of guitars
from here on, as the iconic rock and metal instrument really began to take shape.
