Laning Phase

Freezing the Wave

Freezing the wave in League of Legends is a strategic technique that involves maintaining the minion wave near your turret, providing control over the lane and denying opponent farm. To freeze the wave, selectively last-hit minions and attack only when necessary. The key is to have a specific number of enemy minions alive. For instance, to freeze near your turret, you'd need 3 enemy ranged minions, requiring 6 in total. Freezing offers safety by reducing the distance to your turret and sets up opportunities for your Jungler to assist, potentially securing kills and giving you a lead.

Playing around Your Jungler

Playing in coordination with your jungler is crucial during the laning phase. By communicating and timing your actions together, you can set up ganks, invade the enemy jungle, or secure objectives. Working with your Jungler can be a very effective way to generate leads for not only yourself but also the rest of your team as the Jungler can use the advantage you helped them gain across more of the map than you can.

Playing around the Enemy Jungler

Recognizing and playing around the enemy jungler is crucial for successful laning. Ignoring their presence can turn an easy lane into a struggle, forcing you to give up resources. Effective ward placement is the key to avoiding the enemy jungler. Well-placed wards provide vision and information on enemy movements. Lack of sightings can also indicate the jungler's location. The map below highlights useful ward spots, with black spots being universally valuable throughout the game, providing vision at jungle entrances. Blue spots are potential wards for when your team is ahead, offering deeper enemy-side information. Red spots are primarily for the laning phase, helping protect against ganks without leaving the lane for too long.
