    A Quick Update

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the way it changed life for everyone, I was not able to create the content I envisioned for this blog. However, I did customize the blog’s look in a way that I think reflects the theme of its content—a little rusted, but still wise, sharp, and purposeful.

Ultimately, this blog is a culmination of class assignments that had students become familiar with installing and configuring WordPress, working with the dashboard, adding users and managing roles, and adding and customizing themes, plugins, widgets, pages, and posts. I learned how to add custom CSS to a WordPress theme and how to create and manage categories and tags. I had fun bolstering my WordPress and web development skills.

    Stay safe. Be good.

    Here’s An Idea

I am creating this blog for the Spring 2020 University of Cincinnati IT 1040C class. In this class, students must create a blog or website through WordPress.

I have created and developed websites with WordPress, but I have yet to create a blog with this content management system (or any CMS), which might sound strange if you know that WordPress was created because an old blogging tool was no longer being updated.

My goal is to become familiar with developing blog content, including working with categories and tags. The overarching theme of this blog is my experience as a nontraditional student. There will also be photos of my animals because they are cute.

    Until next time. Be good.
