More information
- Exam P/1 is heavily based on Calculus. Build a solid base from the beginning.
- MATH4008 and STAT6021 cover materials from Exam P/1. There are some overlaps between MATH4008 and STAT6021. At least one should be taken before taking Exam P/1.
- MATH4009 covers materials from Exam FM/2.
- MATH4010 is a one-credit-hour class focusing on exam preparation (two sessions on P/1 and FM/2 respectively).
- Each exam requires about 150-200 hours of preparation. Plan in advance. MATH4010 is helpful, but much more time of practice is needed.
- Exam FM/2 does not require knowledge from Exam P/1. One may take FM/2 first before P/1. Some people consider FM/2 easier than P/1.
- Coaching Actuaries is helpful.
- MATH6008, MATH6010 and most STAT6000+ classes are useful for later exams.
