About

Dr. Xia Wang is a professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. She earned doctoral degrees in statistics and economics from the University of Connecticut, where she developed expertise in Bayesian methodology and computation.

Dr. Wang received postdoctoral training at the National Institute of Statistical Sciences from 2009 to 2011. She worked on NISS’s NCI-funded project Proteomic Technologies: Metrology, Research Methods Design, and Analysis.

Research

Dr. Wang’s research interests include Bayesian modeling of categorical data and scalable modeling of complex, high-dimensional data.

Her research has applications in biomedical studies, social sciences, proteomics, bioinformatics, ecological and environmental sciences, and climate change assessments.
