2003 SUMMER INTERNSHIPS FOR ACADEMIC CREDIT

The U.C. political science department will offer a 3 credit hour internship practicum in summer 2003: 15-POL-406-401. Most students perform volunteer service in Cincinnati, 10 hours a week for 10 weeks (individual schedules may vary). Both paid and volunteer internships during the academic year may be arranged as individual work projects for academic credit or done as a service learning activity.

The Legal Aid Society, Public Defenders Office, Ohio Attorney General, International Visitors Council, World Affairs Council, elected officials, and other agencies accept placements. Interns keep a written journal, meet on campus three times during the term, and submit a final report. A few students each year also earn credit in the program by locating their own paid internships, some in Washington D.C.

Applications are available in Office 1110 (phone 6-3300) and at http://homepages.uc.edu/~tolleyhb/courses. Completed forms should be returned no later than April 11, and early applicants will be considered for the first placements. Late applicants will be considered through the start of the summer term. For additional information contact Prof. Jane.Anderson@uc.edu, 6-2400. Office hours in 1119 Crosley are TTH 1:30-3:00.
