Morgan Institute for Human Rights

Educator’s Guide

THRO in Class introduces active learning and self assessment strategies in the design of Teaching Notes for instructors and THRO study guides for students. The goal is to use instructional technology for active learning that enhances faculty-student interaction and to resist computer applications that dehumanize education.

Online Simulations reports on multi-campus and international chat and video conferences using THRO cases and offers instructors assistance in making arrangements for online exchange with faculty and classes at other institutions.

Professional Development reports on presentations at academic meetings, a September 1999 instructional technology workshop in Cincinnati, and plans for training new THRO associates for internet conferencing.

Bibliography provides references on active learning theory, self assessment, and instructional technology.
