Rabbit Mountain is located in between Longmont and Lyons on a small road off of Highway 36. At Rabbit Mountain, you will hike in more of an open,
desert like environment, complete with cacti and prairie dogs. At the base of the small mountain, there is a prairie dog colony that has made Rabbit
Mountain home. There are a few different trails you can hike here, all offering great views of the edge of the Rocky Mountains. There are definitely some
uphill sections here to conquer, but it is much less difficult to hike than at Chautauqua in Boulder. Make sure to be extra careful here though
because it is well known for an abundance of rattlesnakes.
