Chautauqua Park is located at the base of the Flat Irons in Boulder. After arriving here at Chautauqua Park, stop into the Ranger Station and
chat with the ranger about the many trails available to hike. They will give you a trail map and you can plan your hike. The hikes here can
be very challenging and strenuous, as they all start off going uphill. The payoff at the end, and during, these trails really makes the difficult
trek worthwhile. My personal favorite hike is the Royal Arch trail. At the top of this trail, you will reach a natural stone arch and will have great
views of the city of Boulder down below. Look around while you are up here and you will most likely see rock climbers climbing on the popular Flat
Irons rock formations surrounding you. Make sure to bring plenty of water for this hike and make sure you are adjusted to the altitude before
heading here.
