Basic Tank Top

Basic Tank Top

Difficulty:   Beginner

Time Frame:   Long

This was my very first real crochet project. Everything else I made before this was for practice before I jumped into this. I don’t know why I did not start with something smaller, but I think I didn’t realize that that was an option and I really just wanted to start making clothes.

This took me a very long time because the only things I had worked on prior was crocheting a basic square and making a little 2D flower. Mistakes were most definitely made. I spent four hours on a few inches of ribbing just because I didn’t understand how to count stitches and wasn’t used to crocheting really at all.

In the end product the ribbing is uneven since like I said, I could not count stitches, and I ended up with more than what I started with. Other than the ribbing the actually body of the top ended up really nice and clean surprisingly. The fit is not great, but I am not surprised by that in the slightest. Every time I try it on the boxiness of the top makes me feel like I am dressing up as a marshmallow.
