I am driven by my passionate beliefs in Family, Wealth, and Passion. I pursue these passions by utilizing my core strengths of Focus, Competition, and Responsibility. I plan to live out these values through opportunities where I am helping and learning to achieve excellence and leadership that impacts technology and homeless. To do so, I will seek opportunities to use design thinking and improve the product. When I face challenges or obstacles along the way, I will remember to take care of myself and make decisive actions.
I am passionate about Information Technology and specifically Software application development. My goal is to be at a position where I can make a significant amount of impact on existing industrial practices. To be at that position, I must work on myself. Throughout my experience at IT industry, I realized that I don’t have to be just nerd and computer guy, I can be more socially active and taking care of my colleague to be at the position where I can manage people. Personality development is the key to become more efficient employee. I need to know how to work with different type of people with different background and cultures. I must learn how to deal with them at every kind of situations. The only way to become a person like that is I must be more confident about myself and more acceptable like I must respect all kind of opinions even if I don’t agree with them. I admire one person who is my mentor and teacher and I've learnt a lot from them whether it is business strategies, software development, or personality. I observe people and try to learn their good things and implement them in my behavior. But sometimes I get confuse between what is good or not, so I make pro and cons list that is it good or not.
Now that I have communication skill, another thing which I must work on gaining knowledge. It is obvious that I am at school and I will be learning new thing every day, but it doesn’t make me different from any other student. I have to myself distinct from other knowledge level about computers. There are a lot of different sources from where I can gain knowledge like online courses. Couple things which I will be more focusing is on getting as many certifications as I can and another thing is working on my self-design projects to add them in my portfolio. Following these steps will make me different from others. It is very crucial in IT world to keep myself updated with new technologies understanding so that I don’t left out in IT industry. World is changing so as the technology. Technology is so wide so it is hard to keep up with specific sector of technology because there will be another technology available to fulfill that job.
Another strategy is very important, which is hands on technology. I can't learn anything unless I touch it. I have to work with different software and hardware in order to understand them and make design process. If I don’t know what the functions of old technology are then, how would I make it better. In order to improve the product and make design process, I must make myself familiar with older practices. Whatever I learn in theory, I have to work with it in real world and that what IT is all about. I am the guy who focus on learning by making my hands do it. I learn better when I actually do it. It's all about practical because when I would be in actual problem, theories won't work but the actual hands experience would be really helpful.
So, my main strategies would to improve communication skill or develop personality, gaining knowledge outside the classroom, and hands on practices. These three strategies would make me the person that I want to be and successful in Information Technology track. I love to work with experienced people rather than working with young people who has more attitude issues. Experienced person can give me knowledge that nobody can give me because they know what they are doing and they are so good at it. I don’t have to look for mentor because I already do have one. When I choose to be in Information technology major, I didn’t wanted to just work with computer, but with great passionate people who wants to make a positive impact around the community. Because only one person cannot make a change. My ultimate goal is to help people who really needs help like homeless people. An application, which can record all homeless people and get them job through an app is possible and it doesn't require a lot of mind but still this problem exist in our society. Homeless people are victim of social and economical bias system. In order to find a root cause of this problem, I stayed one day with a homeless people on street and find out that they want to work but because of their criminal record they can't work anywhere. Everyone deserves a second chance if they really want to become better version of themselves. They need help and though the approach of IT, it is possible. Through the strategies that I stated above, I can be that person who helps homeless people to achieve their dream. All I need is to follow the right way and keep moving forward by learning new things every day.
