Welcome to Gabriel Phillips's Home page!

Hello, my name is Gabriel Phillips, I grew up in Virginia in the Fort Belvoir area which is about 30 minutes outside of Washington D.C. My Father was in the military until 2017 and at that point, we moved back to where I was born in Ohio. From there I lived from the middle of seventh grade to college. I ran track in middle school and played soccer in High School, I am looking to maybe play on the school's club team at some point but I am more worried about academics right now than soccer since I find myself being physically active at the gym but at some point I think that may be a fun club to join.

Gabe's Personal Bitmoji Avatar I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity at the University of Cincinnati in their School of IT. Along with pursuing my degree, I am also going to work towards building a strong resume outside of the classroom with the help of Cincinnati’s Co-op Program to get experience in my field with some on-the-job training. I am also currently striving toward gaining a multitude of certifications to strengthen my resume. One of the certifications that I would like to gain is the CompTIA Security+ Certification. I feel that having this certification would be able to help me land a good Co-op and it is considered a “prerequisite” to all the other Cybersecurity Certifications.

I like to keep myself busy outside of the classroom as well. When I am at home, I love to spend time with my nephews Micah and Ezra. I also like to hang out with my friends doing a multitude of activities, the first of which being going to the gym. I started going to the gym within the last year or so and a lot of my friends have started during this time or have continued to go. I feel that the gym is good for you both physically and emotionally because you can use the gym to better yourself physically, but the gym also has a social aspect to it. I say this because I have made plenty of friends and met new people at the gym just sparking up a conversation about our workouts and then branching off onto other topics.
