NewGarden
This is the place for information about the NewGarden program, additional documentation, and additional software realted to the project.
Useful stuff
- Programs. The executable versions of the NewGarden programs are free to download. They are povided in a single Java archive file (.jar) file. Several recent versions are available.

The programs available in the archive include
- The basic NEWGARDEN Model program that runs the NewGarden simulation specified in a parameter file.
- The Validator program that reads a file and reports if it is a valid file in the SimData format.
- The DataReader program that reads an entire NEWGARDEN dumpfile and calculates NewGarden's standard summary data.
- The FST program that reads a NewGarden dumpfile and calculates F-statistics (FIS, FST, FIT) using collections of user defined subregions.
- Documentation and explanation. The file SampleRun.pdf aka Introduction to NewGarden explains how the program works and you you can use it.

Supporting data
Here are links to publication-specific files (parameter files for particular experimnts, specific versions of the NewGarden program(s) etc.)
- Rogstad and Pelikan. (2011) Genetic Diversity in Establing Plant Populations CD from the book as a .zip file. Here you have access to the files distributed on the CD included with the book. It includes source code for version 2.1 and an executable version of the program from July 2011.
- Conservation Genetics Resources submission "NEWGARDEN: A computer program to model...". Here is a .zip file containing the parameter files for the 4 different trial conditions (A,B,C,D)
