First IEEE Workshop on e-Health and m-Health Technologies for Ambient Assisted Living and Healthcare (TechAAL 2021)


Introduction and Scope

The aim of this workshop is to bring together academics, students and industry researchers to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Artificial Intelligence for HealthCare. This workshop is co-located with IEEE IRI 2021, August 10-12 which will take place virtually.

All the authors will be invited to expand and submit their papers for possible publication in a Sensors (MDPI) journal Special Issue entitled "Information and Communication Technologies for Social Good and Healthcare".

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
  • Health care information systems interoperability, security and efficiency;
  • Ambient intelligence for wellbeing and e-health applications, supported by RFID technology and Wireless Sensor Networks;
  • Mobile applications and ubiquitous devices in Healthcare and lifestyle training;
  • Robotic systems and devices for health care and medicine;
  • Technologies to promote a healthy and secure society;
  • Big Data Analytics for e-health;
  • Assessment of Acceptance/Adoption models Cultural Evaluation of e-health;
  • Acceptance e-health and economic growth Factors affecting e-health adoption;
  • Machine learning for healthcare;
  • Intelligent systems for young and elderly people using mobile devices;
  • Human factors, efficient cost control and management in society;
  • Intelligent decision support and data systems in health care, medicine and society;
  • Innovation in people supporting activities (e.g. health care, schooling and services);
  • Embedded systems for healthcare;
  • IT Acceptance Models Acceptance of e-health services;
  • Major barriers and facilitators for e-health;
  • Biosignal Acquisition, Analysis and Processing;
  • Semantic Technologies and Cognition;
  • Physiological Computing in Mobile Devices;
  • Augmented Reality in Healthcare using Wearable devices;
  • Cloud computing for healthcare;
  • Mobile application concepts and technologies for different mobile platforms.

Abstract Submission deadline: April 15, 2021
Paper Submission deadline: May 17, 2021
Paper notification: June 1, 2021
Camera ready submission deadline: June 18, 2021

Paper submission

Submitted papers must be unpublished and not considered elsewhere for publication. Submissions will undergo a rigorous review process handled by the Technical Program Committee. Papers will be selected based on their originality, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Only electronic submissions in PDF format through the EasyChair submission site: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=techaal2021 will be considered. Papers must be in English, up to 8 pages in IEEE format, including references and appendices. The IEEE LaTeX and Microsoft Word templates, as well as formatting guidelines, can be found on the paper submission instructions available at the main conference website.

Paper Publication

At least one of the authors must register and present each accepted paper. Registered and presented papers will be published as workshop papers in the IEEE IRI conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press and included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. All the authors will be invited to expand and submit their papers for possible publication in Sensors (MDPI) journal Special Issue entitled "Information and Communication Technologies for Social Good and Healthcare".
