Last Link at the end of this text is a link to the Tennessee Spatial Data Server.  If you are interested in GIS coverage for Tennessee go directly to the link JACKPOT at the end of this text.  I have yet to investigate the vast wealth of GIS coverage which, can be obtained from this site.  The following are places I went before finding the TSDS site.  The USGS National Map Site is worth a visit.

First place I went to was the state’s home page and then did a search for Geology.  There I obtained the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation TDEC  . TDEC home page.  There is a link to the Geology Division, which has a generalized geologic map of the state as a php file Generlized Geolgocic Map.  Topographic index of counties with pdf files can be found through the Division TDEC: TDG: Topographic Map Index by County.

Watershed Maps with lots of information show up at this site which I stumbled onto from TDEC home page link TN Stream Impairment.  Source of TN Steam Impovement was from the Watershed Site.

Went to the USGS site  which gives a map of US and you can search by State.   I then picked my state of interest Tennessee and you get a page search box and also various link by subject that includes  On –line Map list which gives listing of topographic maps at various scales by name.  They fooled me and this is just a list of maps and not an actual map available online.  Bruce Bauch bbauch@usgs.gov is the contact for USGS geography liaison staff.

The USGS has a National Map Site.  The national map viewer is a great site and should be checked out for any state.  It has BW ortho photo roads, streams, county boundaries, land cover, wetlands and many other layers which can be turned on and off.  CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!

USGS also has a link to geodata.gov a one stop site for all your map information.  I clicked on the geological and geophysical tab and got Here, which gives links to various other sites that still need to be explored.  You can search from this site for primary data based on state.  If you have NORTH DAKATO THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO.

USGS GEODE site has legend for geology, geography etc and displays a relief map which is supposed to provide links to other sites.

USGS report in pdf file for GIS coverage in Tennessee can be link to pdf file .  Report gives status of GIS coverage in Tennessee.  Mailing address for digital information but no link.

This is a link for GIS information of the  from the USGS Knoxville Quad.

TDOT web page found here after search word topographic maps.  Site gives links to USGS coverage of DEM and how to download files.

Main link is the Tennessee Spatial Data Server which is the JACKPOT for information.
