CV Theis Groundwater Observatory
October 8, 2019 at 11:00AM EST
The observatory lies within Spieker's (1968) geohydrologic environment I-A-2 for which he reports T values of 1 3 x 105 US gals/day/foot at a thickness of ~100 feet and S of 0.2. Based on this, K values are roughly 270 ± 71% feet/day. Multiply the gradient by this K for approximate seepage velocity (ft3/ft2/day) and by 1,300 for average advective transport velocity (ft/day) (i.e., average pore velocity). An aquifer test will be conducted before summer 2019.
Shallow flow azimuth 125°N with a gradient of 0.00129 (q=0.70 ft3/ft2/day, v=3.4 ft/day)
Deep flow azimuth 34°N with a gradient of 0.00080 (q=0.44 ft3/ft2/day, v=2.1 ft/day)
