Gaboon Viper
Bitis gabonica
The gaboon viper stands out among vipers for its extremely large fangs,
reaching lengths of just over two inches. The amount of venom injected
with just one bite is substantial and can be deadly. Fortunately, gaboon
viper bites are rare due to the species’ calm nature and preference for
dense forest.
