Giant Fruit Bat
Pteropus giganteus
These big bats eat only fruit juice. After chewing soft fruit such as
bananas, pears and mangos, they spit out the pulp. Like people, they
prefer sweet, aromatic, juicy fruit. Most fruit bats have excellent
eyesight which they use, along with an acute sense of smell, to locate
fruit at night.
