Emu
Dromaius novaehollandiae
Like the ostrich, the emu is a large flightless bird. Compared to the
size of its body as the second largest living bird, the emu’s wings are
tiny. Its three-toed legs, however, are long and strong, and allow the
emu to rely on running rather than flying, reaching speeds up to 30 mph.
