Cacomistle
Bassariscus sumichrasti
Nighttime finds the lone cacomistle leading and climbing through the
trees in search of ripe fruit such as figs, papayas, and bananas. As it
feeds and travels, it leaves behind droppings that contain seeds of the
fruit it consumes, thus, helping the plants disperse their seeds
throughout the forest.
