Finally

• You can add a finally block with your try block.
• Normally this comes after the catch, but you actually don't have to have a catch to use it.
• Theoretically, the finally block executes whether or not an exception was caught.
• The * is, it is not guaranteed to run 100% of the time at the same time.  So be careful.
• In any case, finally is a good time to close resources.
• Example with JDBC:


try {
    Connection conn = driver.getConnection();
    Statement stmt = conn.getStatement();
    // .....
} catch (SQLException e) {
    // catch code here.
    System.out.println("SQL Exception caught.  Message: " + e.getMessage();
    e.printStackTrace();
} finally {
    conn.close();
    conn = null;
    stmt.close();
    stmt = null;
}
