The Java Directories

Update: The directories you actually see on your computer depend upon the options you chose to install and the Java version you installed. You may not have all of these directories, and you may have some that are not listed.
 

• Start with your installation directory, which is usually something like C:\jdk or C:\jdk1.3, C:\jdk1.4, etc.
• Then, the subdirectories are:
• bin: compiler and other tools like rmic (RMI compiler).
• demo: demos (duh).
• docs: library documentation in HTML format.
• jre: Java Runtime Environment
• include: native methods
• lib: library files
• src: source files
