Future Trends in Geometric Function Theory
The workshop will include both formal and informal exchanges of information. Each morning there will be four forty minute invited research talks; these will be more than just a report on current research results, but rather will be an overview of the lecturer's area of expertise. It is hoped that each speaker will present one or more problems suitable for collaborative exploration. Each afternoon there will be two forty-five minute workshops devoted to topics of shared interest; here all participants will be invited to raise questions, pose problems, and suggest lines of potential research. The goal will be to describe the current status of a subject, identify open problems, and map out future joint research plans.
These afternoon workshops will be centered on three main topics, with the indicated coordinators.
Topic | Chairperson |
---|---|
Analysis in Metric Spaces | Jeremy Tyson |
Potential Theory in Metric Spaces | Nages Shanmugalingam |
Mappings of Finite Distortion | Jani Onninen |
In addition, the following prominent researchers have graciously agreed to present plenary talks following the afternoon workshops.
Lecturer | Institution | Title of Talk |
---|---|---|
Mario Bonk | University of Michigan | Negative Curvature in Analysis |
Gaven J. Martin | University of Auckland | The Problem of Siegel and Hurwitz: Symmetries of 3-Manifolds |
Steve Buckley | National University of Ireland | Slice Conditions and Their Applications |
