We will use USGS maps and locally produced CAGIS maps to learn about contour lines, hills, valleys, water movement. etc. Students will learn what contour lines are, how to read a topographic map and how maps are developed. Working in teams, the girls will make their own topographical maps from models brought into the classroom.
