Young Stars and Clusters

When we look towards young star forming regions, we see a variety of interesting objects. In the constellation of Orion, there is a famous nebula which contains several very young massive stars. And all around in the nebula, other curious objects are found.


Objects such as T Tauri Stars (solar mass pre-main sequence objects) and other indicators of youth are found here. What is shown in the close up images above are pre-planetary disks, called propylids.
