The Formation of Stars
One of the more interesting facts in Astronomy:
STARS do not live forever.
In order to see stars today,

they must also be currently forming.
Star Forming sites are difficult to see.. Because stars are forming deep inside of molecular clouds where optical light can not easily escape.
Many (if not most) of the images you are about to see were taken at infrared wavelengths.
Why??
