When we map positions of galaxies in the sky, we get a two-dimensional
view of the structure and density of galaxies:
We need to measure the REDSHIFT (Doppler Shift), and apply Hubble's Law, to ALL the galaxies (this requires getting spectra of EACH galaxy!), and then we can determine distance, too. This gives us a 3-D view of the universe:
