One fun project we are currently working on is building a robot for the AUVS Competition in July 2002.
The vehicle has six major parts:This year we are redesigning the laser scanner and sonar system to improve its capability for locating obstacles. Also, a fuzzy logic controller is being added to the vision. We are testing the robot each Saturday at 1 PM in Room 508 Rhodes Hall, the Robot Vision Lab.
Other projects are pending approval of various proposals
to the National Science Foundation and others. We have a
talented team and are looking for work.
