Transforming 50W to a Complex Load Using a Shunt Stub

The following steps are to be followed:
- Locate the given load (impedance, admittance or reflection coefficient) on the Smith chart.
- Go to admittance chart
- Draw a circle with a radius equal to |Gin|(constant reflection coefficent circle).
- Move on the constant g=1.0 circle by adding a parallel susceptance jb (or -jb) to the 50 W load.
- Move on the constant |Gin| circle toward the generator until you intersect yin. This is the length of the transmission line d1.
- Replace jb (or -jb) by an open-circuited or short-circuited shunt transmission line.
- Find the length d2 of the transmission line which will generate jb (or -jb).
Note: there are two solutions for this matching problem..
The following step by step procedure will guide you through this matching process.
