Valve. (2021, August 13). Introducing Steam Deck [Video]. YouTube. https://youtu.be/AlWgZhMtlWo?si=XfhWatroa5HXTDHa
Valve's Steam Deck is currently the best way to play your PC library of games on the go. Running a custom version of Linux optimized specifically for gaming, the Steam Deck is able to play most games on the Steam platform. Valve themselves will also verify various games for their compatability with the Steam Deck, allowing you to know before you buy if the game runs on this handheld. But what if you don't want to use Steam? Well, the Steam Deck is technically a PC running Linux, so by switching over to PC mode, you can install various different game launchers and emulators, allowing you to play almost anything you want on the go! If you value portability when it comes to gaming, the Steam Deck is a fantastic value, especially considering that if you already play PC games, you won't have to repurchase a new game library!
Nintendo Switch (LCD/OLED)
GameSpot. (2016, October 20). Nintendo Switch - Reveal Trailer [Video]. YouTube. https://youtu.be/iS-1tDfLxRQ?si=RVfVGAiXdZEd1Tid
The Nintendo Switch has been around since 2017, and it's still going relatively strong. Its hardware is very old by now, with many new releases on the console struggling to run above 30fps. Despite this, the quality of games is still pretty high, especially the games published by Nintendo themselves. The Nintendo Switch isn't an easy console to recommend in the modern day due to its low power, but it still is a great console for people who want cheap portable gaming or just plain like Nintendo.
