APOPTOSIS and P53
Each
and every cell has a predestined time to live, after which they withdraw
themselves from the normal cellular activities and die. Generally Cells die
through one of the two different processes : either
they are killed by injurious agents such as mechanical damage or exposure to
toxic chemicals; or they are killed by suicide. The pattern of death by
suicidal changes in the cell is so orderly a process that it is sometimes
termed as Programmed Cell Death or apoptosis.
